Airforce One lands safely in Rostock with the US President on board
Before the official part of the G8 Summit begins this evening, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will be holding meetings with several of the Heads of State and Government in Heiligendamm. She will first be having lunch with US President George W. Bush.

This continues a series of personal preparatory meetings the Federal Chancellor is holding with each of her seven guests.
 
Over the past few days Merkel met the British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and her Japanese counterpart, Shinzo Abe.
 
The partners of the eight Heads of State and Government will be accompanying them to dinner this evening on the Hohen Luckow estate.

The first working session will then take place on Thursday morning.
